Hookstone Chase Primary School

Welcome Message

A warm welcome to Hookstone Chase Primary School. We pride ourselves on our warm, friendly and family ethos which provides the firm foundations for effective learning. We strive to achieve the best outcomes for all of our children.

Ofsted (March 2013) stated that: “Standards are rising rapidly and achievement is good.” It was also deemed that: “The quality of care is outstanding. It is provided by a skilled staff team. The quality of support for disabled pupils and those with Special Educational Needs is excellent.”

Hookstone Chase Primary School is situated on the edge of open countryside on the southeastern outskirts of Harrogate. It is set within its own attractive grounds complete with extensive playing fields, sports court, gardens and a willow tunnel as well as an Outdoor Stage. This is complemented by a well-maintained, bright and lively building which ensures that the learning environments add quality and value to the children’s education.
It is our intention that all children have the opportunity to grow and flourish in their learning. Through the provision of an exciting and stimulating curriculum, with a range of enrichment opportunities, we want the children to feel inspired to develop their own interests and become independent, resilient and reflective learners. This approach along with a commitment to equip the children with the basic skills in English, Mathematics and ICT ensure that the children in our care become confident and effective learners. Ofsted (March 2013) stated that: “ Pupils report that they enjoy school; this view is justified by the way they thrive in lessons, are proud of their work, and are full of pride when they talk about the school.”

The personal development of each child is of great value to us and we place a lot of importance on developing the social and emotional aspects of learning to equip them with the skills and understanding they will need to lead confident, healthy and independent lives. Again, we were pleased that Ofsted (March 2013) noted that: “Pupils can concentrate on their learning because they are extremely well looked after and feel happy, safe and secure. This puts them in the right frame of mind for learning.”

I would be delighted to show you around school to see us at work and at play. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
